A. According to the
Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it is a machine element in which the journal
rotates in peripheral contact with a number of rollers usually contained
in a cage.
The element transmits a load, with a minimum amount of friction, between
two surfaces moving in different directions.
It consists of an inner ring and an outer ring and the rolling elements
in between run in raceways. To prevent the rolling elements from touching
there is a cage that evenly spaces and guides them.
